hi all, i am using windows xp operating system on an ibm think pad t41.
i recently purchased a sony psp.

the problem i am having is this. when i plug the psp into the usb port i get
this message. device not recognised etc etc.i am able to download to the psp
from other computers so i know it must be a problem on my laptop.

i am also told that my usb must be a 1.0 that is why the device isnt
recognised.
my question is has anyone had the same problem? and is there a solution to
this?

please help.

thanks

Which windows OS?
USB is a integral part of computer architecture and is independent of windows.
If you have USB 1.0, that's what you have and can't be upgradee to 2.0
unless insert PCI card into computer.

i am using windows xp . i have looked at device manager and can see a usb 2.0 h
intel 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller -24 CD.
i think this means that i have usb 2.0 compatibility.

the only hardware i have problems with is the sony psp
any thoughts?

thanks

tried some of the stuff you sent, my laptop still does not recognise the pcp.
i get the message unknown device.

Hi,

I have a PSP and X64 and it works 'poorly'. I use to use XP pro and it was
fine. Now I can get through but the link take ages to read the PSP then
usually results in a crash on the PC not PSP.
There must be a problem with X64 talking to the PC (which I think is worte
with Mac software)
