I have xp home with all the updates and I have standard
enhanced pci to usb controller showing on my device
manager I have the sp1a and all the updates b4 installing
the nforce2 drivers for my A7N8x2.0 deluxe motherboard
has it's advised to do on nvidias website, but even with
this done the usb2.0 device I plug one second it's there
and the other minute is gone, leaving me with the option
of unplugging and plugging it back in so it shows
again...and round and round it goes! I have updated the
motherboard drivers and even dowgraded them roll back and
intalled and let xp reinstall usb2.0.... I know the
hardware is ok and I think this may be a driver issue
with my motherboard and winxp(home) I have tryied
absolutly everything but a new motherboard... any ideas???

try disabling power save for the usb root hub in hardware
manager
Go to>>
control panel\system\hardware\device manager\USB-
Controllers\USB Root Hub (right Click - Properties -
Power Management and uncheck the box for Allowing the
computer to turn off this device to save power)

do this for all the root hubs

Do you have enough power?

It might also be a problem with the individual devices. Do they have options
to go to sleep when not in use? Do they require batteries (like a mouse)?
