I just bought a used add-on card for USB 2.0. My computer only had
USB 1.0 or 1.1 (whatever it is). Anyhow, the card is a Belkin F5U219.
I dont have any instructions, but it looks like a simple plug and
play. What I dont understand is this: There are two USB plugs on the
back (outside of case slot), and one on the other end of the card,m
which means it will be INSIDE the case. What the heck is the point to
that? Unless I leave the cover off my computer, what use is the one
on the inside?

Maybe there's some new internal device that I am not aware of?????

You can get things like Memory Card readers, that install in a 5.25"
drive slot. Something like that may require a USB connection to work.

For example, if you click the second-from-the-left picture for this
product, you will see it needs an internal USB port.

Most of the card readers that you are thinking of are connected to the
motherboard via the usb headers. If you are running Vista you can
install a usb flash drive that is "windows ready boost" capable and
this will run as extra system ram. Plug it in, close the case and
forget about it.

If it's what I think it is, the internal plug was meant to connect a USB
accessory bracket that installed in either a 3-½" or 5-¼" drive bay, giving you
USB access from the front of the case. This was meant for those cases that
didn't have built in USB plugs in front.
