If I have only USB 1 capabilities on my computer, would a 4 port USB
hub that is
USB 2 operate on the computer (albeit only at USB 1 speed)?

The reason I ask this is that I may be adding USB 2 peripherals in the
future and also USB 2 card in the computer & would like not to have to
purchase replacement hubs.

Best,

Aaron

Yup it should do Aaron. As you've
said it'll only run at 1.1 speeds thru a USB2
hub.

If you're planning on getting a USB 2 card
you might as well wait, and then plug the USB2
hub into that. Then you'll have USB2 speed
thru the Hub.

If you do buy a USB 2.0 card, think about getting a combo
card with USB 2.0 and Firewire.
