US license OK in UK?

I am going to Florida early next month and I was wondering if I can buy a
copy (OEM) of Vista (Ultimate) while I'm there and use the licence in the
UK?

The exchange rates (two bucks to the pound) is great right now and I might
get a bargain.

Incidentally, if it is OK, where would be the cheapest place to buy it (I'm
going to Florida - Orlando area)?

Cheers.

Look for a Best Buy, Costco, CompUSA, Circuit City, or Staples outlet.
Prices will vary very little. They all have Store Locator links on the
websites. Just enter "Orlando" and choose the nearest to your hotel. They
should all have links to show in-store availability of inventory.

You won't find any retail stores in the U.S. selling OEM versions of Windows Vista...
only "retail" versions.

Is that unlikely, or has there been a policy decision or something?

Look out for vouchers in the Sunday newspapers, I was in Florida in April
and I got $80 off a 7800GS at Best Buy...

This is not the case with XP in Canada -- You can find OEM versions at
pretty much any computer store, although there are usually hardware
purchase requirements too though.

Is this different in the US? Or different with Vista?
