Apologies in advance if this is the wrong group...After upgrading a Win98 SE box to Win 2000, I am not able to access web pages by typing a URL in the Start>Run menu. It displays a dialog that tells me there is no application associated to http://www.microsoft.com, for example. Now I am not about to associate .com files with Internet Explorer just to use this functionality--imagine the implications. Has anyone ever seen this before and been able to fix it? Although not a huge deal, it is a major pain when you are so used to doing something one way and you lose the ability to do it. Thanks in advance.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs
and check the bottom box. Close & restart IE and say yes
when prompted.
