Our corporate hq often uses url's with just a server name (i.e.
http://serverA/ instead of http://serverA.example.com/) which seems to work
fine for them, but won't work in IE6 for us. The same url works fine in
Firefox, but IE6 won't take it. Is there a setting in IE to handle this?

Thanks,
Paul

Not in IE, but in Control Panel -> Network Connections -> (right-click
network name and select Properties) -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) ->
Properties -> (General tab) -> Advanced button -> DNS tab -> Append these DNS
suffixes (in order)

(Whew! I hope you can find your way there!) You can either explicitly Add
the suffixes you'd like it to apply, or use the "Append primary and
connection specific DNS suffixes", optionally selecting parent suffixes as
well. Just fiddle with the settings and you'll probably get it to work.
