Hi,

I have a 2003 SBS that I am having a problem locating a printer via an URL.

This is very important for a application that I use...I am using the URL
\\servername\printer name. Fro example, if I print to the "LPT" port it
works - if I try printing to the URL is doesn't.

Is there something that I am suppose to setup on the server to allow this?
How can I test finding a printer via a URL or test printing via an URL?

Thanks

Mark

I had no trouble going into settings/printers and selected the printer in
question, right click and enable sharing - then it works, using XP pro

The printer has to be shared and you have to have access to it, ie. an
account on that computer (if it's Windows XP Pro and simplie file
sharing is off, or on a file server). Once that's done you should be
able to browse for it.
