url must be exact

For some reason, recently in IE6, when I type in the
address I want to go to, I have to type in the exact
address including http:// or else IE won't give me a
website. And while it's supposedly searching for the
site, in the bottom left corner where it says what it's
doing it shows that it's searching for a different page.
For example: If I want to go to hotmail.com and I type
in "hotmail.com" into the address bar and hit enter, the
status bar shows "Opening page

the searching and doesn't find anything.

Run Hijack This... as follows,

Go to:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location: Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support.

Update, the plug-in is the C2/Lop Spyware parasite.
