what setting needs to be changed to allow me to access a url without typing
www at the beginning. On some computers I can type the address without the
www and it automatically redirects. For example

"www.uba.org" vs. just "uba.org"

I can't seem to find a setting in autocomplete. But it works on some
computers and not on others. Any clues.

If the site that you target doesn't provide a default hostname, like "www",
then that is their screwup. You can't do anything about their inability to
setup their site with a default host.

Have you already visited there once? Then it would be in your History
and the AutoComplete for Web addresses dropdown (aka AutoSuggest)
would show you the appropriate URL when you start typing ub..
Cursor or Tab down to the one you want to use and then press Enter.
Or, if you have Use inline AutoComplete active (in Options, Advanced)
and that shows it the way you want to use it just press Enter.
(If you use your mouse click on the appropriate entry.)

Tip: if you want to edit the URL you found notice that Ctrl-BackSpace
is a handy way of removing bits that you might not want to reuse.
