Right im going out now.... i hope this is answered by the time i get back....
ive got a pc infront of me
Dell Dimension 2350
P4 2.5GHZ (478)
PC2100 - 512 (1 stick)

I want to know is there anyway of gettin another motherboard into this thing? any motherboard at all?
At the mo it has pci slots but no agp....
thnx for your guys help... much appreciated

if you get a new motherboard, wont the harddrive not reconize the motherboard? or is that just me being crazy?

Well i dont know... thats not what is worrying me at the moment....
My friend says that this motherboard could fit in....
[size=+1]Abit SG-72 Micro ATX (Socket 478) Motherboard (MB-067-AB)
So what would you guys think....
I have already got a pci fx5200 in this machine but it truly sucks....
This mobo is £30 and would leave open the chance for a decent graphics card.... :D:D:D

I would not take the chance, Dell were renowned for using a dedicated power supply unit.

Get a new case & PSU as well.

:thumb:

Ok... How much is a case with a decent psu?
I dont really care what the case looks like like if it was ping im not botherd (although it would be very cool lol) as it is stored under my deks and i dont really look at it...
And is there anything else i need or can i just pretty much go ahead get a case, psu and take everything out of my dell?? :D

An Antec TruePower 480w would serve you well. :thumb:

... and I agree about the case. If it can hold all the components why worry what it looks like.

But, I do Like Cheiftec Cases. :D

Right..... if i get an ATX motherboard does that mean i have to get an ATX case??? or can it go in a normal one??

99% of cases are ATX ;)

careful if your changing your motherboard the dell recovery software (os) is unlikely to run without the original hardware.

hardware lock, a nightmare!

Ive run recovery software on a re-built shop bought computer that had been gutted and refurbished with newer bits... it worked fine.

Admittedly it wasnt dell though...
