Hi, I am doing an urgent presentation and have a problem with some animation. I have found some things I would like to include in my presentation, and the site says I can (as long as it is not for commercial use). An example of what I want is this: http://www.snowcrest.net/kitty/hpages/porp.htm
PLEASE could someone help me and explain how I get this into my presentation (I can copy it, but the animation does not show or work - even in the slide show - all I get is the background colours
Would be VERY VERY grateful for urgent assistance
Thanks

Thanks.

In IE, use File/Save As and save the page as an HTML web page. You'll get
the HTML page and the related GIF files.

Then in PPT use Insert/Picture/From File and choose the GIF you want. It
will only animate in PPT 2000 or greater, though, as PPT 97 doesn't support
animated GIF.

I forgot to mention that I am using PP2000 on Windows98. Thanks for your advice - I had already saved the page as html as you suggest, but I am continuing to have problems. I have tried two ways, the first is the default save as Web Page Complete (*.htm, *.html) and also Web Page (html only). In both instances, there is a box underneath called Encoding, and in that is Unicode (UTF-8). When I try to insert the picture, it does not show up on the list under Picture file, so I have to list All Files, then I can see it. I try to insert it as a gif file, and I keep getting an error message "An error has occurred with importing this file. (then it shows the path and filename), and I have only one option, and that is to click OK. Hmmm! I have tried all the other options apart from gif and still get the same out come
I would be very grateful if you or someone else out there can throw some light on this, as my presentation is urgent
Thanks in advance. Monty

Have you just tried right clicking on the porpoise and selecting "Save
Pictue As"? Then you can insert the animated GIF in your presentation. It
works perfectly for me in PowerPoint 2000.

I just visited the site and did this:

Rightclick on one of the porpoise images, choose Save Picture and saved to a
folder on my local hard drive. The Save As dialog defaults to GIF, which is what
we want.

Start PowerPoint

Choose Insert, Picture, From File, browse to where I saved the picture ...
deliberately, one might almost say on porpoise ... and choose the picture.

It comes into PPT and animates when I start the slide show.
This is using PowerPoint 2000, though on XP.
