I received an email which I though was from swiftpay.com - - it's kind of
like Paypal - - -
anyway, apparently it wasn't from them, and it used the regapi.dll in the
link itself -

I don't know anything about this dll and whether or not I should be
concerned as to whether or not I inadvertently sent out any personal
information.

Please, have alook at the following link and tell me whether or not, if I
clicked on it in an Outlook email message, if it found information on my
computer and sent it out:
http://www.swiftpay.com:regAPI.dll&...&[email protected]/signup.html

There was no need to included it all, so, the "...." part in the middle was
put in

Thanks

I don't know if it found out any information on your computer. If you use IE to save
passwords then possibly. I do not let my Computer/browser store any important logon
names or passwords. If in doubt, immediately go to swiftpay.com via normal logon and
change logon/password information and then look at account activity, reporting any
fraudulent use immediately. Never follow links from emails, always go the website via
normal channels and when there verify the address bar information [for instance Ebay
will show Ebay.com at the right most period in the address bar between Ebay and com]
and also the site certificate that you can view by clicking on the little padlock in
the lower right hand corner which would also indicate a ssl secure channel which
would also show https in the address bar instead of http. --- Steve

What is this dll responsible for? Can it be used to send out info, in this
way?

That I don't know. A Google search references it to use in Terminal Server quite a
bit, but I am not sure what it is used for in your situation. -- Steve
