With one drive failure, a RAID 5 volume should continue to
work -- it will reconstruct the missing data which is part of
what RAID5 does.

It's a little hard for me to sort out exactly what you're
saying, but it sounds as though you have three >physical< SCSI drives
and (probably) one >logical< RAID5 drive -- and that drive #2 has
simply failed. In that case if another drive fails before you replace #2
and rebuild the data on to it, then you are in serious trouble.

First, if you don't have a current backup and the system is
still useable, you need to take care of that immediately.
Second, given the rather sensitive state of your system and
your apparent lack of experience with recovery, I'd really
advise that you call someone in. Pushing the wrong button
or pulling the wrong drive at the wrong time can easily leave you
with no data at all. RAID5 volumes in a critical state are very
tricky to deal with.

I may be reading your post wrong -- it could also be that you're
saying your server has failed. In that case you need to post
more information as I can't understand what is going on.
