my Boss PST file size is now 1.82 GB. And im trying to reduce the PST size but nothing is working.

I moved around 4 MB of emails to Archive.pst using OUTLOOK Archive function but no result its still showing PST size 1.82 GB.
Then i tried Compact NOw function of OUTLOOK still no result....
Then I deleted hunderds of mail from inbox....no result :((((....

If somebody knows the solution to reduce the PST size.... PLease let me know....

I can hardly imagine a situation where anyone would need 1.82GB in their
Inbox. Archive anything older than a certain date - say, two months old.
Consider creating two or three archives -- say one for 2000, one for 2001,
one for 2002, etc.

You might also try adding the Size field to the email list, then sort by it.
Find the largest messages and see if you can delete them -- their large
size is most likely due to attachments that have been saved to the HDD. If
he needs the emails, but not the attachments, right click the attachment and
choose Remove.

Finally, compact again.

You'll need to truncate it with a special tool now as the pst-file has
reached its maximum size.
Here is the link for the tool;

Thx Bond G and Roady for ur advs....Finally i got succuess in reducing the size of PST file....wht i did...i Archived whole "Inbox" by selecting the date like Archived for 2001 emails and 2002 respectively....and after tht Compact the "Personnal Folder" ...you wont belive it took 1.5 hrs to compact PF....and after that PST size reduces to 1.07 GB from 1.82 Gb...NOw i want to ask one more thing.....

I added newly created Archived file in the OUTLOOK too bc my boss want to keep mails of 2001 and 2002....now OUTLOOK is showing 3 folders

Archive Folder-2001---(2001.pst)
Archive Folder-2002---(2002.pst)
Personnal Folder(which currently receiving/sending mails)----(mails.pst)

The question is this ....For which PST size OUTLOOK will look now?

Thank You very much.

Waiting for your repply

Not sure what you're asking. If you mean which file's size will Outlook
consider when testing against the size limit, the answer is all of them, but
independently. In other words, Outlook won't add all the sizes together to
determine if it should break. :-)
