from copying the power point slides from the web.I would appreciate any

Pretty near impossible to do, as anything that you put on the web, can be copied

Other than (expensive, tricky) streaming technologies, you can't.

The web works by downloading files to your computer then displaying them
from the local hard drive.

But at root, preventing people from downloading files isn't the problem,
it's one possible solution to some other problem.

What's the problem? Preventing people from having access to specific data?
Preventing people from grabbing your presentation and using it as their own?
Something else ...?

By doing it as HTML instead of PPT you can make it more difficult, but not
impossible (somebody could always do a screen capture, for example)
