Hi,
I've tried to change the security policies today to add a bit more
restriction/control on our family computer from our child. I am getting the
following error when I try to logon with my Administrator account "The local
policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively" so I can
only logon with the user account and I have no permissions with it. I am
running Windows 2000 Pro with SP4. Please help me resolve this issue, I
can't even undo what I did because I can only logon as a user so all I am
getting is access denied or you do not have permission. What can I do?

Cordially,

CW

Hi,

Try to do the following:

1. Go to Start -> Run -> then type cmd and enter

2.Now type -> net use \\ComputerName\C$ <Password> /u:Administrator

3. Navigate to the %SystemRoot%\Security\Database folder.

4. Rename Secedit.sdb to Secedit.old_sdb.

5. Copy an operational Secedit.sdb from a Windows 2000 platform of the same
edition (Server to Server or Professional to Professional).

6. Reboot your computer.

Hope this can help.
