S
Stuck
I installed Intel Accelerator version 2.3 software and it screwed my
computer. I have a Dell Dimension 8200 [Desktop], Pentium 4 1.80 GHz,
256 MEM, 80 GB HD.
I use WIN XP Home.
WIN XP alerted me about the new software conflict,
I got a notice stating that WIN XP had prevented a crash due to the
newly installed Intel software; it did not give me time to fix it and,
when I rebooted the machine, it crashed.
Now my computer can no longer boot WIN XP. When I turn it on, it
reboots before loading Windows, and it keeps doing it endlessly until
I turn it off manually.
I tried to boot in Safe Mode, but it did not let me. It simply cannot
load Windows. I formatted a floppy disk using my laptop, which also
operates WIN XP Home, and tried to boot that way. I can access drive
A: this way, but I cannot go to C: or any other driver.
I then used the repair function of the WIN XP CD and it copied the
files to the hard drive but, unfortunately, it did not solve the
problem. I cannot load Windows, for the machine keeps rebooting
before doing it.
WIN XP CD let me, however, get into C:\WINDOWS. And I am there now.
Question:
Is there any way to repair my computer from the C:/WINDOWS prompt?
Is there any other suggestion you can provide to solve this problem?
Thanks a million!
