Some how my all my .exe files were reset to load by srcds which i think is a
gaming program. I try and load programs when it was like this and it said the
dll failed to lauch but i realised i can change it (only to programs e.g.
internet, notepad, word) i have changed it to notepad and alot of gobaldy goop
came up. I want to know how to reset it back to normal (which i gather is the
computer itself)
Please reply asap thanks in advance

Try MVP Ramesh's file association fixes here:
http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/105/1/

If that doesn't work (or if you can't get to the website - I had trouble
getting there just now), you can do a System Restore to when things worked.

To run System Restore, go to the Start Orb and in the Start Search box
type "System Restore" without the quotes. System Restore will appear in
the Programs result. Click on it, allow the UAC prompt, and follow the
wizard.

If you can't run System Restore from within Vista because of the issue,
then you can boot with your Vista DVD and choose System Restore from the
repair options there.
