Hmmm,

You seem to have done things correctly. There are, of
course, many way to do things. For starters are you
creating a shortcut in the windows startup folder to
a .bat file with the 'net use' script -- or are you
putting them in the ../SYSVOL/.. home for scripts for
active directory and including the script name in the user
profile? Whichever one you're doing, try the other.
Because of the fact that you can map it manually I'm
assuming there are no access control issues. Let me know.

Hi Tim,

Ans to your question:
1. Batch files are run when logging in to the domain.
2. The directory are set "Everyone/Full control".
3. Users did logged in the correct domain.

My finding:
1.1 For W2k/XP clients, net use commands in logon script
doesn't work. I need to manually map each share again in
every such client. No problem the second time onwards.
========================================================
2.1 For ME/9x clients, I can ping the ip/netbios name of
the server containing the share resource.
2.2 I can't browse the share resource in the server under
network neighborhood/my network place.
2.3 I can't map the share with net use t: \\srv1\abc but
can map the share with net use t: \\ip\abc.
2.4 Tcp/ip setting use DHCP for WINS resolution.

What else should I do? Please kindly advise.

Million thanks,

I can't write much now, but it sounds like a DNS/WINs
problem on the server side. I'll write more later.

Hi Tim,

Million thanks for your precious time and advice. I'll
keep on trying until I fix it.
