I have Vista Home Basic, and i have decided to reinstall windows, start with
a clean slate so to speak.

However when it reinstalled, it just installed another version of vista in
the same drive. How do i clean the drive and then install windows?

Giving major problems as my computer is now running on low disk space!!!!

Thanks

You have obviously installed it from within your current copy of windows. To
install you need to boot from the original Vista DVD.

See this link from my website:

Thanks,

Just tried that, but still the same problem, on your website, on point #14,
mine does not say there is any free space, cos there is 2 windows already
installed, i think i have to format my drive, but have no idea of how to do
this!!!

Where you select the place to install Vista, there is an advanced button.
Use it and format.

Sorry Zakfalls, I got side tracked reading another post just as I hit the
send button to reply to yours. Take a look at the following links:

I think have this sorted, all i have to do now is get rid of the Windows.old
folder which is taking up a lot of space!!!.

Thanks

When vista is re-installing, and you get to the part of WHERE you are going
to install Vista, delete ALL existing Partitions of vista, and then format
the whole hard drive as one big partition!!!

If you are reformatting and reinstalling then everything on your drive will
be deleted.
