C Chris Priede Dec 30, 2005 #2 Hi, The laptop stays on even when unplugged - probably battery working. What should he do to restore function? Click to expand... I'd attempt to hold the power button depressed for 4-5 seconds. Then, if that didn't do it, remove the main battery. He will be quite lucky if it works fine restarted afterwards and there was no lasting damage.
