A colleague in Spain has an urgent problem:

WAV files attached to text animations cause the show to drop into edit mode.

This happens randomly - i.e. works fine once, next time drops out.

Sony Vaio GRT896hp with NVidea Grafics card.

Any help very much appreciated and showtime is not far off... within a few
hours!

Regards,

What version of PowerPoint is he using? Is it an English version, or
Spanish? Has he tried running it in the Viewer? What happens then, since
the Viewer doesn't have an Edit mode?

Sonia,

Thanks, I'll get him to try - if he has viewer.

It's XP (all written and playing in XP). All UK equipment and software -
just the show's in Spain!

I wonder if it would help making it a .pps - it would still run in full
PowerPoint though I guess - any thoughts?

Regards

Same here re not knowing what to recommend for a quick fix. I'm wondering if
it's a video driver issue, though. I'd probably see if updating the video
driver and changing hardware acceleration helps. Those are fairly painless
things to try, although I'd be sure to set a restore checkpoint (if using
Windows XP) before updating the video driver.

acceleration.

Thanks for your help all.

I've passed it all on and hope to have helped!

Regards,

I haven't heard of this problem before, so I don't know what to
recommend
as
a quick fix, other than removing the sounds from the animations.
