The text in a table can be oriented sideways so that it reads
downward, using Format->Table->TextBox. Is there a way to orient it
sideways the other way so that it reads upward? That's typically the
orientation for column/row headings. Thanks.

What version of PowerPoint?

In 2003 this is not easily accomplished, but there are 3 ways.

1) Create the table in Excel. Format as desired. Insert into PowerPoint,
Select Excel object for the paste type.

2) Insert => Object => Create New => MS Excel Worksheet (format-able as an
excel sheet)

3) Ungroup the PowerPoint Table, rotate the box, regroup. Note that this
then is no longer a table and will loose the table -like behavior (expanding
cell widths and such).

Thanks, Bill. I'll try #1 next time. What I ended up doing this time
was a bitmap import. Basically hit an ant with a hammer. :)
