iirc you could find this out under win98.

How can I find out the uptime under Win 2k ?

net statistics server, or
net statistics workstation, or
uptime.exe (there are many versions of this tool)

Thanks to both replies

uptime.exe works fine

I've got this issue where the network gateway seems to disappear after
24 hours, and I needed to be able to verify boot time :)

It's in the event log. Or at least when the OS starts a record gets
written to the event log, giving details of the OS version. It's Event
ID 6009 on 2000 and XP.

Good suggestions have already been posted, but my usual way of
determining this is to run the command NET STATISTICS SERVER
(workstation service also works) - this will indicate exactly when the
service started and since both the the workstation and server services
are rarely shutdown, especially on a server, they are usually pretty
accurate.

Are you sure? Did you try the command I suggested to the OP?

No I hadn't (but your post wasn't visible when I first replied). Neat tip,
and one that I wasn't aware of. Thanks.
