UPS support

I've looked around the net and newsgroup archives and see some mentions of
UPS in XPe but nothing that looks like a total solution. Does SP2 have some
of the missing UPS service issues addressed? Is there an existing component
that supports UPS's and the settings that can be made in the Control Panel
Power Configuration?

Larry,

Only "some" UPS brand are in the database. Just make a filter in TD to search for components that contain "UPS" and you will see all
of them.
I don't see much new in SP2 around UPS support except that the "Uninterruptible Power Supply Service" was fixed (has the UPS service
reg.entries).

I fyou need to support a 3rd party UPS, you would need to componentize it.

I guess for the UPS you would want to include "Device: Battery" and "Uninterruptible Power Supply Service" components.
Also, I'd suggest you double check at run time that UPS service is started and running fine.

Having the UPS service fixed was one of the things I was hoping for in SP2; thanks for
confirming that! I'll still have to dig around to find what registry settings the Control
Panel Power Configuration sets.
