UPS.exe error

Roughly 30 seconds after the Windows XP login screen, a
small error window appears that says I have encountered a
UPS.exe error (presumably meaning something is wrong with
the uninterrupted power supply connected to my computer)
and that I should click 'ok' to close. However, upon
running the Power Management Utility software that came
with the UPS 500, it says that the UPS is connected
properly and that there are no errors. What is the
problem, please help!

That is part of Windows XP:

1. Control Panel
2. Performance and Maintenance
3. Power Options

Best guess, and it is only a guess, is that the software you installed
and the one built into Windows XP are competing with one another.
