You need the retail Windows XP Pro upgrade, full version will also
work as well.
There is no marking on the box as to whether SP1 is on the CD or not.
The CD will be marked.
At this point it is unlikely that you will get a CD without SP1.
Buy it from a computer store that moves a lot of Windows.

this true ? I have also read that there may be a problem if the XP
home version has had SP1 applied and the retail version is a non SP1
version, Is there a way to tell (on box somewhere) if the retail
upgrade contain SP1 ?
You need the retail Windows XP Pro upgrade, full version will also
work as well.

The CD will be marked.
