Uploading via FP or SharePoint Services

Hi all,

I have been using FP 2000 and lately FP 2003, and never had any trouble
uploading via FP or SharePoint Services to our http-address.

Suddenly however, about 3 weeks ago, I stopped being able to do so. My
password no longer is accepted at all. But, strangely enough, everything
works just fine if I publish via FTP (both in FP 2003 or with Cute FTP). This
is all fine and well, but makes my forms and search form stop working. I'm
slowly going mad about this problem.

My provider insists that FP Extension are installed and OK on their server.
I on the other hand insist, that nothing has changed in my environment at
all.

Has anyone ever seen this problem, or has some ideas what might be wrong
here? There are no restrictions in our firewall to port 80.

Could there have been a Windows Update that changes outgoing access?

We use McAfee GroupShield / McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 8.0.0

Thanks for any thoughts or ideas....

Desperate regards
/Rosie-Posie

Hi Kevin,

No, nothing new in particular. Unless some Microsoft Update has the
described effect.
I also have uninstalled FP2003 completely and re-installed it, and then
imported my whole local website to a new empty website. Didn't work though.

The fact that the FP username and password work in FTP upload makes we
wonder though.

Uploading through 3rd-party ftp will often corrupt the fp extensions...so depending on when you used Cute FTP, this may be your problem.

Yeah I know. I only used Cute FTP after the whole thing stopped working, in
order to upload some new pages.

Well. I'm currently on vacation (or trying to be anyway), so I'll have to
take up the whole thing with my ISP after I'm back at work.

Thanks for all your thoughts anyway. Don't stop sending answers though, if
you find a solution!!!

Try opening the site "live" with FP.
Open FP
Open Web/Site
type in http://www.whatever.xxx
Prompted for un/pw

If you can't open it that way your FP extensions are probably whacked and/or the password's messed...have your host reset/reinstall extensions. Then try it again.

Hi again,

tried your suggestion: didn't work. I get a message telling me that my
website is on a disc with restricted access or that there is no index file.

I'll take it up with my ISP - thanks for your help
