Hi,
When uploading video from my mini-dv, using firewire, I get the prompt for
the default: "Best quality for playback on my computer (recommended)". This
format doesn't take up too much space on hard drive. However, I've heard
that I should use DV-AVI, which does not degrade quality. Supposedly, this is
for those who intend to edit video on computer then save it back to tape on
DV camera. I do not. I intend to upload to computer, create movie using movie
maker, then burn to DVD (still need to purchase burner). I've tried both
formats and I cannot see much difference, though there is a difference. If I
go with the DV-AVI, I won't be able to work on much more than 1 60 minute
mini-dv tape at a time because I've only got 90 GB available space. Any idea
how many 60 minute mini-dv tapes, uploaded as DV-AVI, I can fit on a 4.7GB
DVD? Appreciate any help. Thanks.
