the hard disc on my laptop was corrupted so my computer engineer retrieved my
contacts data in the foillowing format:
MSBusinessContactManager.ldf @ 10MB
MSBusinessContactManager.mdf @ 25MB
I have tried File/Import and Export... but it does not give those file
extensions to import with. How do I do it?

Hi

This is what you would have to do in order to restore data

- create a new data base in BCM ,this should create a ldf and and mdf file
with the same name you gave for the database

- you would fine the same under C:\Documents & Settings\<user profile>\Local
settings\Applciation data\Microsoft\BCM

- rename the backup* that you recovered to the corresonding name of the new
data base that you created

- go to services.msc and stop the MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM service

- then replace the same in the existing location as mentioned in step 2

- once this is done restart the stopped service mentioned in step 4

* create a local copy of the backup so that even if something goes wrong you
stiill have a backup

If all goes well you should have you old data restored
