I have finally successfully created my site, and supposedley published it to
the web. The program states that the upload was successful, and all my files
are marked published, but when I go to visit the site on the web, there's
nothing there. It still says "under construction". Where is my site????

What is the file name of your home page??
Does it match what the server requires as the "default" home page??
"Normally" it needs to be index.htm or .html or default.htm or .html.

If it is homepage.htm or some other name, the server won't "see" it as the "default" page.

Check with your web host to see what the default document (home page) filename should be.

Your default home page is index.htm, but the host does not have the server
configured for index.htm.

You need to contact them and ask them to add index.htm as a default page for
the server, or ask them what default they require you to use, then change it
to theirs.

I clicked on my index page, and then went under "file" then "save as" and
typed the new file name of index.html.

When you do a file | Save as, the web must be republish as a full publish,
not changed pages only, in order to get it back in synch.

The correct default page for your site is index.htm, *not* index.html.

You could simply rename the extension, not do a save as.

With your local web/site opened in FP: View | Folder List (so your files and folders appear in the left frame of FP)...then select the index page, right click, REname. The for good measure do a Recalculate Hyperlinks (Tools menu), then Re-Publish.

I got it!!!! I renamed the index file "index.html" and everything is in
working order. Thanks so much for your help!

I see the site just fine, now.
