upgrading

i'm trying to upgrade my OS from 2000 to XP but when i try
to load the BIOS onto a floppy, it gives me an error
message--
Usage : OS2 /P <full path> /C <original CommandLine>

redoing diskette

--and i can't do anything about it. it just keeps asking
for me to insert a formatted floppy, which i have, and
displays the message again.
help...
 
Oh this is easy -
don't back up your BIOS : )
(ok so I never back up my bios and have never had
problems, is there a particular reason you are doing
this?)

i'm pretty sure i have to upgrade the bios, or i can't
install xp at all.
