I am trying to upgrade from Windows 98 to XP and the
system keeps crashing (blue screen). When I run the
compatability check it stops everytime when checking the
system on the "DVD Movie Player" Is there any way to go
around this? It lists a specific memory address, but I am
not knowledgeable enough to know how to exclude it.

Thanks

It is always preferable to do a fresh install (reformat your hard drive
and reinstall), especially when going from one operating system to
another which are so vastly different as Windows 98 and Windows XP (2000
to XP wouldn't be as big a deal).

If you don't want to do that, you could try uninstalling your DVD Movie
Player and try again. Chances are it won't work in XP anyway.
