Upgrading to XP Home Edition

Hi All,

I just upgraded a Dell Dimension XPS t600r to Windows XP. I did a
clean install on my old C drive after backing up files onto my D:
drive. I was advised to unplug my D: drive during the install. Now
when I plug it in, the only thing the OS asks me to do is to reformat
it. Do I have any other options?

If you are so generous, please email any suggestions to
(e-mail address removed)

Thanks,

Jonathan.

What CPU does your Dell have?
Does XP work fine other than the D drive problem.
How much info do you need off the D drive?

Once again: the secondary drive worked fine until I

1) upgraded the bios (I didn't check to see if the secondary drive
survived this step),
2) disconnected the drive from the ATA card,
3) did a clean install of XP on the primary drive
4) reconnected the secondary drive.

Of course the computer was turned off when I disconneted and
reconnected the drive. Right now the system can detect the secondary
drive without any problem, but it has no information about the drive
format and simply offers to reformat the drive. Somehow it can't see
the FAT32 partiton. Because I added this drive later it is labled as
the G: drive. Much thanks in advance.

Just to follow up in the hopes that someone will have some input to
this problem:
