Upgrading to XP from 98se ATI programs not listed

Trying to install new ATI graphics card in XP. I just
upgraded from 98se. To install new card you must first
uninstall previous ATI programs and drivers. They are
not listed in add/remove programs. Is this because they
were installed under 98se? Or maybe XP has disabled
them? How do I remove these? Do I need to uninstall XP
then with 98se remove these programs? Then I would need
to reinstall XP, put in new card, then install software
for the new ATI 9800Pro. (Old card is Radeon 64mb VIVO).
