OMG. Microsoft have moved the goalposts again!!!!!
We had a half-day presentation BY MICROSOFT licensing team who categorically
stated that Office may only be upgraded over 2 versions - that is Off 97 to
Off XP or Off 2000 to Off 2003: they were explicit that OFF 97 could not be
upgraded to Off 2003. We even persuaded some of our customers to upgrade
Office 97 to Office XP before they were locked in with no upgrade path.
The documents you linked refute this. It must be the same as the Windows 98
change!
