upgrading to windows xp

I have installed windows xp and now that I have it I
cannot access my floppy drive. I tried to install it
through install hardware but it tells me that it is
already installed. I cannot see it on My Computer and
cannot access it through My Documents. Someone please
help.

In all the many times that I have ever installed any version of Windows
including XP, I have never seen that happen. The basic drivers provided
with Windows should support most any floppy drive and what you are
experiencing is quite unusual. If you opened the case or made changes to
the BIOS for some reason, I would check cable connectioins and BIOS settings
to make sure that everything is correct. If everything is fine there, I
would contact Microsoft directly for installation support. They can be
