Upgrading to Outlook 2007

I had an earlier version of Outlook (2003?) and yesterday upgraded to 2007.
All went fine until 2007 came up and now gets stuck on the "Configuring
Outlook" screen. Ran for about 9 hours and didn't move, but kept saying
"Running" in Task Manager. I killed it and then restarted and ran in safe
mode and all seemed oK until I couldn't send (could get email, but not send
anything other than the Outlook test messages).

Now, I exited & rebooted and tried again and back on the "Configuring
Outlook" screen again not moving.

Thanks for the assistance,
CB

Try with a new profile created via the Mail icon in Control panel and set to
start with that profile. Hopefully, you will get past that first stage this
time.

Thanks for the suggestion, but had already tried it with no change in
results. I've removed Outlook 2K7, reinstalled it, removed every Office app,
reinstalled, etc. I still hang at Migrating Account Settings.

thanks,
Chris

OK, I just am not getting anywhere, so I'll look as this as an (unfortunate)
option. Is there a way to always start Outlook in safe mode? At least then,
it works, though I have to make changes to certain options each time, it's
just not working in normal mode, not at all...

thanks,
CB

I have the exact problem. I added a shortcut with a safe mode switch...

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE" /safe

That works, but it isn't an ideal solution. I have tried the new profile
route and two other "fixes" that did nothing. One was to rename four old
files, but I only found two, even with hidden files showing. Here is a
link...

Anyway, if you find a solution, please post it.

Thanks!

Just wondering if you had any luck, I am still having the same problem??
Thanks Danielle
