Upgrading to the 2003 Office from Office XP I am having
an issue starting Outlook. The error is "A system
component RPC, required by Outlook to connect to the
email server is not configured correctly" The system
connects to an Exchange server for my email. Any thoughts
from the group?

Thanks...

Same problem here. Since I don't have the time to go after that right
now (shouldn't have installed it in the first place :) I decided to go
back.

Was a big hassle. After uninstalling Office 2003, Office XP wouldn't
install. I had to clean out a few Windows Installer settings related
to Office XP before I could reinstall it. Then my Outlook profile was
hosed; had to create a new one ond re-download all the offline
content. Seems to be working now.

Solved the problem, further on in this newsgroup the
solutions is described, just adding some keys into the
registry.

It's the following adjustments:
at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RPC\Clientprotocols

ncacn_http: rpcrt4.dll
ncacn_ip-tcp: rpcrt4.dll
ncacn_np: rpcrt4.dll
ncadg_ip_udp: rpcrt4.dll

Good luck
