Upgrading to nForce 3 RAID question

Hello all,

On my wife's computer, I'd like to move her Windows XP boot drive
from a PATA disk to a SATA RAID 1 array on her nForce 3 board. The manual
for the board says that to boot from a RAID array, you need to install the
RAID drivers during installation. Fair enough, IF you're installing the
OS for a brand new computer. I'd rather not go through the hassles of a
clean install, though, if I can possibly help it. Anyone have any
suggestions as to how I can do the move without a full reinstall of
everything?

Thanks,
Scott

Install the RAID drivers before you do the move, if the system will allow
it.

No guarantee that your image restoration program will put things on the
array the way the drivers expect to find it though.

I haven't tried, but...

Clone the existing disk to SATA. DO NOT BOOT YET (from either disk)!!!!
Remove the PATA
Boot from XP CD and do a REPAIR install of XP, include the RAID drivers
through F6 at beginning....
