Upgrading to New Hard Disk

Is there a way to use a backup program to move the
contents of my old hard disk with Windows XP to the new
one without having to reinstall everything?

Please let me know.

You need to visit the support website of the manufacturer of your
new hard drive and see if they have a free utility program that you can use to
accomplish this task. For example, if you have a new Western Digital drive,
you can download their free Data Lifeguard Tools which includes "drive-to-drive
copy capability" (Ref: http://support.wdc.com/download/).

Or use a third party utility which would allow you to clone (copy old to new
disk).

Powerquest (Symantec) Drive Copy / Partition Magic.

So far the only utility I have found that works with dynamic disks (if yours
is configured that way) is Norton Ghost 2002.

I purchased other utilities but they would not work with dynamic disks.

Many new harddrive installion s/w come with the
capability to move all data to the new drive. I recommend
MAXTOR. iT'S QUICK AND SIMPLE.
