Upgrading to FP 2002/2003

What would be the best solution to upgrade from FP2000? We
would like to upgrade by the end of this year. Should we
upgrade to FP2002 server extensions, currently we are
running the server extensions for FP2000, and then wait
for FP 2003 to be released or just go with FP2002? Any
thoughts?? Thanks

Personally I'd wait for '03. I can't remember what was different from 00 to
02, but 03 is like goinf from win95 to XP! It's a lot more like dreamwear
(deature wise) but still in the teach yourself package FP has always been.
You don't *need* server extensions, but features that use the extions still
need them to work. (There will not be a FP 03 server extensions) It's
supposed to use MS Share Point (I don't have it on my site, so can't tell
you a thing about it). I've been beta testing 03 now for about 1-2 months
and love 03! I haven't even opened 02 since I loaded 03.
03 Should be out in Oct. If you want to order office 11 beta test, I think
it's still available, for like $20 shipping, which includes FP 03.

Okay I know that I would have to upgrade to XP or 2000 to
use FP 2003. What is Longhorn going to do to the MS
products?

The FP SE and FP Client software are 2 different things
- there will be no FP 2003 SE (but FP 2003 will support the FP2000/2002 SE)

Go ahead and upgrade to FP2002 client software now and you should be eligible for a free upgrade to FP2003 - see
