I have heard that there might be .....
Cheers Steve.
We've been contacted numerous times after people performed an upgrade to
Dynamic disks which resulted in the disks being 'unpartitioned', so empty.
In all cases it was purely a partition table issue. Our tool DiskPatch can
make the upgrade more safe:
See
http://www.diydatarecovery.nl/~tkuurstra/backupmbr.htm right column
bottom item "Performing a safe upgrade of a Basic Disk to a Dynamic Disk".
And even after a successful upgrade DiskPatch can be used as an extra
safeguard allowing it to back up the MBR and the LDM, such a backup will be
useful in case of MBR and LDM corruption and after accidental loss or
deletion of individual volumes.
Note: Of course a 'full backup' is always wise as well.
Kind regards,
Joep
