Upgrading to 4 processors

I'm contemplating the purchase of a 4 processor capable
machine. Can I begin with just 2 processors in production
and add 2 more later when\if it becomes advantageous?

Yes you can always go from 2 to 4 processors any time you want to. It
will not require any change in Windows.
