HelpPls

I am in the process of testing/implementing a 2003 Server DC into my 2000
environment. I plan on eventually letting the 2 run together for a little
while and the totally removing the 2000 DC machine and replace it with a new
2003 DC machine. Currently, DNS is installed on the 2000 DC. Eventually,
the 2003 Server DC will be my DNS. How do I handle this switch? Should I
install DNS on the 2003 box as AD integrated or a secondary zone? What
happens when I take the 2000 DC offline?

Thanks,

Sean

Hi,

I assume the current Windows 2000 DC/DNS server contains AD integrated
zones? If not you should convert them to AD integrated. When you upgrade
to Windows Server 2003 and run DCPromo, then make it a DNS server it should
aslo contain AD integrated zones.

Thanks,
