Upgrading MovieMaker in Windows ME

My girlfriend runs ME on her computer, likes it, and wants to keep
using it. But her version of MovieMaker is old and featureless.

Can the version of MM that is shipped with Windows XP be somehow
installed into an ME computer? If not, is there another upgrade path
available without switching to XP?

I'm thinking all versions except
1.0 are WinXP only.
