I am about to upgrade my motherboard, and I have resigned myself to a Repair
Install. I know I will lose the serivice pack and all the updates, but if
it works saving the other stuff will make it worthwhile. But my question is
about my Norton and all those virus definitions and updates. Will I lose
them? Should I just go ahead and uninstall Norton to avoid conflict
problems? Is there anyway to save the Norton stuff? Thanks.

Hello

Norton's will remain their, just run another update once you
do the upgrade you will be fine

It may be too late to get it before you do the repair
install, but MS now has a security update CD, free (they
even pay postage).

Hi

Norton should be OK. Just go ahead for a repair install Of XP after upgraded the mobo
Of course, there is no 100% security during the repair process (e.g. power interrruption), backup the important data files first for just in case
