If I install Vista Ultimate Edition on my machine, and choose to upgrade my
motherboard, CPU, RAM, and Harddrive and reinstall Vista, is my lincense key
no longer going to be valid because I've registered Vista using my old
hardware configuration?

Thanks,

Eric, this depends on whether you purchased the OEM version or the Retail
version. However, I would bet that even the OEM version will allow upgrades
of hardware with only a telephone call for reactivation, but don't quote me
on that. :)

I built my daughter's machine with an OEM copy of Vista (out of old parts).
She liked playing games on it so much that I upgraded the mainboard, ram,
and video. A call to MS with an explaination was all that was needed.
