upgrading from Windows 98 with DNS

I can't afford to go to hish speed internet right now, but
am interested in moving up to Windows XP on my HP
Pavilion. Is the price of the upgrade software worth
paying if I am only using the home computer occasionally
(emails and web browsing) and use a dial-up service?

Before you even think about upgrading, run the upgrade advisor to see if
your system will be compatible with XP and make sure HP has XP drivers for
everything in you computer. Otherwise it may end up costing you more than
you plan on.
